  • Monthly Theme: November Winners and December Announcement

    So it’s the last month of the year. Almost time to look back at everything that happened and what’s planned for 2026. But that’s for another post. First, to announce the winners of November.

    The theme for November is Black Friday Micronations Sales. Almost every Micronation has an online store. So this month you can promote 1 article from your store (with or without discount). Paste an image together with the url of your webstore in the correct (2025-10) discord monthly channel. To show how people can support you and promote your store item!

    So for November, there was only 1 entry from Flandrensis. Who promoted one of his medals:

    For this theme I chose the Grand Ducal Antarctic Preservation Medal

    This medal (design 2024) has the “Grand Duchy of Flandrensis – Antarctica” in the language ‘Flandriaans’. It shows an animal half lion and half penguin , a reference to our national animal and our coat of arms. This medal is for sale to everyone who want to financially support Flandrensis. For each sold medal 5 EUR will be donated to an ecological charity supported by Flandrensian citizens.     I find it a missed opportunity for people to show something from their micronation to promote their store. Like stamps for the Stamp Lovers out there etc. But it is what it is. That sets the current standing:

    1e Place: Flandrensis with 5 points.
    2nd Place Dobirill with both 4 points.
    3nd place: Mekniy-Lurk with 1 point.
    4th place: The Kingdom of Pontuni with 1 point.

    Monthly Theme for December

    This December, we’re marking the Month of Giving. When charity initiatives around the world take centre stage across radio and TV. Everyone is encouraged to spotlight a cause close to their heart, and MicroWiki will donate to the project that stands out the most.

    For instance, in Belgium the chosen charity theme this year is “invisible illnesses,” meaning conditions you can’t always detect just by looking at someone. A large number of people struggle silently with their mental health, and there are organisations dedicated to supporting them. So if I were to participate in the competition, I would look for an organisation that helps those living with mental illness.

  • August updates.

    Hi everyone, great to see you here for the latest news. So what happened so far in August?

    How about a new owner for MicroWiki? (That’s me in the picture yes). During the han(g)(d)over weekend at the Micro Euro Summit, Luxor, Fabian and myself had very long interesting talks about MicroWiki.

    After months of preparation I took over ownership of MicroWiki. After the decision was made by Luxor, I started with 1v1 videocalls with as many admins and moderators as possible to get as much info as possible before I would take ownership. And during those calls I’ve created a priority list using their feedback, concerns and irritations around the site and discord.

    But what were some of the things I’ve done so far after I took ownership on the 1e of August?

    • Create this blog that you’re reading now so you can receive updates, news, announcements. etc.
    • I dismissed the foundation so that it’s members could have a nice break, it’s holiday season off course.
    • Re-building the foundation as a board of directors with people that have different expertise’s to create a solid base of experience to execute the long term vision that I’ve planned out during those months. The newly formed foundation will be installed at the first of September. And legal matters for registration as a non-profit will be investigated.
    • The site is being relocated in the EU so the more known European laws apply now.
    • I’ve build up a year schedule that every team member will be able to follow. (more on that in a new post)
    • Give specific tasks with deadlines to admins/mods to set certain things in motion for the long term.
    • Start a MicroWiki Codex that will be made public in time. It contains all the important info in 1 document instead of many different pages. For example. A clear stance on GDPR, ban policy, the foundation etc.
    • Run a survey to the whole MicroWiki team to set the right priorities to deal with and to get even more feedback after the 1v1 videocalls. (The results will be published in September.)
    • Also helping out people with some account and article issues, with a videocall if needed.

    I’ve probably forgot some minor things but they will come out in the end.

    So what’s next?

    • Analysing the results of the survey of the complete MW team, and publish them here on this blog.
    • Execute a prioritised action list based on those results.
    • Publishing more information about the first community theme. World Cleanup Month for September.
    • Get back on the current running tasks by various admins and rework them where needed.

  • MicroWiki, the largest online encyclopædia about micronations has a new owner.

    At the Micro-Euro-Summit at Romkerhall in Goslar (Germany), the ownership of MicroWiki was symbolically transferred with a handshake between Luxor and Horeidosha.
